Mel's Insights:

The Westmount neighbourhood was established in the early 1960s and has grown to be one of the most popular neighbourhoods in London, Ontario, especially among families. When it comes to property types, Westmount features a combination of larger than average family homes (with generous lot sizes), townhomes and apartments (including rentals). Westmount Estates III is a new rental development by Tricar that is currently being leased (with occupancy in Fall 2016). This unique feature about this development is that it is smoke free, which is likely something we will see more of in future rental developments.

One of the main staples of the neighbourhood is Westmount Shopping Centre, which is located on Wonderland Road. The large shopping centre which was first established in 1971 is home to a wide range of retailers, including Cineplex Odeon (which has an awesome VIP section where you can grab a drink and watch the movie at the same time). But a major mall isn't the only appeal of the area. The Westmount neighbourhood also features a number of amazing green spaces and parks, like the Basil Grover Skate Park.

The larger homes in Westmount are a major draw for families, as well as the number of schools, including Jean Vanier Catholic School, Arthur Ford Public School, St. Jude Catholic School, Saunders Secondary School, W. Sherwood Fox Public School, Sir Isaac Brock Public School, and Westmount Public School.
