It’s so funny because I grew up in Ilderton, just outside of London, and when we used to come into the city, we would almost always end up hanging out on the east side of London. We had a friend in Byron and we always used to tease her because it was on the outskirts of the city (in fact, it wasn't even annexed into London until 1961) and Byron seemed really ritzy. Consciously, we knew that Byron was different.

Today, it's still seen as a really desirable place to live, and there's a piece of Byron that is still pretty much original. This small town feel is part of the reason why those who end up in Byron tend to put down roots and can't imagine living anywhere else.

Historically, Byron reached north of the Thames River, now Oakridge Park, and present day home to the Sifton Bog. It is home to Springbank Park and Storybook Gardens. One of the biggest attractions is Boler Mountain, a year-round recreational facility. There's a reason why Boler Mountain is located in Byron. London is pretty much flat, but Byron is quite hilly. If you're buying a property in Byron, there’s a higher possibility that you will either be looking up or down with respect to your neighbours.

There are a number of older neighbourhoods and heritage properties in addition to a long strip of unique store fronts and little spots to eat. This neighbourhood is really close to both farmland and forest. With a strong community feel and beautiful surroundings, Byron could be the best neighbourhood in London, ON for you.
