Geographical Boundaries:

Crumlin is a neighbourhood in South East London, ON, just south of the London International Airport and east of Veteran's Memorial Parkway.

Mel's Insights:

After the Second World War, many of the homes in Crumlin were sold to veterans, each having at least an acre lot with a prefab structure on it (if you know where to look you can find the hinges for the roof). When my kids were 3 and 4 years old, we bought a little post-war prefab home on a country size lot on Crumlin 'Side' Road. The 'side' was later dropped and it is now referred to as simply Crumlin Road. The neighbourhood of Crumlin is on the most eastern side of the city of London and is loosely populated, with some industrial sites and farms making up part of the area. Because of the large lot sizes, there has been a fair amount of building in the area in recent years because even with a larger home you can still enjoy a fair amount of land.

Waubuno Creek runs right through the neighbourhood, and if you're a golfer, you'll love the fact that Dorchester on the Thames, Maple Ridge, Willow Park and River Road Golf Courses area all in the area. Crumlin is also home to the Ukraina Country Club, Tony's Banquet Hall, and Eastwood Equestrian, a co-op horse boarding facility.

If you are looking for the peace and quiet of country living but with easy access to the 401, the airport and amenities of the city, Crumlin could be a great neighbourhood for you.
