NEIGHBOURHOOD IN SOUTH EAST LONDON, ONTARIO

Geographical Boundaries:

Glanworth is a small town located just South East of London, Ontario. It's the halfway point from London to St. Thomas and is the neighbourhood in London with one of the smallest populations.

Mel's Insights:

The fact that Glanworth is only a 20 minute drive away from Downtown London means that if you're looking for the peace and quiet of country living but with the accessibility of the city's amenities, Glanworth could be the perfect spot. At the time of the last census (2006) there were only 460 people living in Glanworth, which means small town charm and you really get to know your neighbours! Glanworth, along with Lambeth, didn't officially become a part of London, Ontario's annexation until 1993, after having been a part of the Westminster Township for a short period of time.

Glanworth is full of history, the library location being a major piece of it. The London Public Library branch is located in the original structure, known as the Glanworth Library at the time, which was built way back in 1923! Unlike many of the newer, larger library locations, the Glanworth location is just a small, unassuming little white house. Blink and you might miss it as you make your way down the main street of Glanworth Drive.

Glanworth is surrounded by beautiful farmlands and is largely undeveloped, unlike Lambeth which has seen a handful of new developments pop up in recent years. If you are looking to put your feet up at the end of the day and enjoy the sounds of nature, but have the same commuting time of many of the other neighbourhoods in London proper (traffic!), Glanworth might be a good fit for your and the family.

With nice homes on large lots and its close proximity to the 401, Glanworth offers all the peace and quiet of country living without having to compromise on the easy access to all the major amenities. Plus! Glanworth is only 20 minutes to St. Thomas and that much closer to the water, making beach days in Port Stanley a shorter drive away.
