Mel's Insights:

Just west of Western University you'll find the neighbourhood of Hyde Park, another previous small town that was in enveloped by the City of London. Within its borders you'll find the prestigious London Hunt and Country Club, established in 1885. If you are interested in foxhunting, golf, tennis, skeet and trapshooting, this is the place for you. It’s pretty cool that these types of activities are found right in the city. The area has seen some recent development, and the crossroads of Hyde Park and Fanshawe Park Road is now home to a major shopping area. There's be a lot of residential building in the area, from condo apartments to single family residential as of late. New, 2-storey homes, many with very modern styles, have a starting price point around $300,000 (2016). Now, here's the hidden gem: on Gainsborough Road just east of Hyde Park Road you'll find Unger's Market, which is a favourite staple for people from all over. For me, it's the chip dip, but for others, it could be the local fresh produce, the coffee, the deli or the giftware. Definitely a place you’ll want to check out. It’s totally worth a visit, and I’m sure you’ll love it!
