Mel's Insights:

Old North in London, Ontario is one of those areas that used to be like how the Old East Village and Wortley are today. The Old East Village is up and coming, young and vibrant. Wortley is funky and artsy. Old North was similar to how these two neighbourhoods started out and over the years has become one of the more prestigious neighbourhoods in London, Ontario. It’s full of older, well-cared for character homes that boast historic features like prominent brick and high ceilings, the tree-lined streets are quiet, and everyone is happy to be a part of the community. It’s not uncommon to see the casual wave or nod amongst neighbours, out for a stroll with their dog or relaxing on the porch. Locals opt for hangout spots like The Bag Lady Variety, which is great for grabbing lunch and taking in some patio time, or The Bungalow, which is famous for it’s amazing burgers. There’s a mixture of residents who have been there for years, young families and student housing, which all make it one of the most desirable neighbourhoods in London, Ontario.

The famous Richmond Gates that lead to UWO, the stunning architecture of King’s College and St. Peter’s Seminary are some of the establishments that are woven into the neighbourhood. Old North is also home to St. Joesph’s Hospital, which is seeing a complete overhaul and redesign. There’s also extra scenery along the Thames River, with all the multi-use paths than run along the river to downtown. With a strong community feel, beautiful homes and a prestigious reputation, it’s no wonder everyone wants in!
